NO MAN CONTROLS YOUR DESTINY
We all have a sense of purpose deep down on the inside of us. We all have a sneaking suspicion that there is more to life than the tangible, nine-to-five, every day, waking-eating-working-sleeping life.
Ecclesiastes 3:11 (AMP)
11 He has also planted eternity [a sense of divine purpose] in the human heart [a mysterious longing which nothing under the sun can satisfy, except God]
Whether we know God personally or not, we are all aware of something greater than what we are experiencing right now. God made us that way. He put that knowing, that longing, on the inside of us. And so we dream.
Sometimes life will try stealing our dream. We may face some set backs, some heart breaks, some bad reports, or make mistakes that lead us to feeling like a failure. Life can try bringing us to a place where we live a sub-standard version of who we know we were meant to be. You need to hear me tell you today:
God’s plan for your life still stands!
No person OR no circumstance has the power to steal the dream without your permission.
Joseph knew what it was like to have a dream tested. His brothers were jealous of him and despised him. When he enthusiastically told them his dreams, they didn’t share his excitement. In fact it enraged them to the point of almost killing him. Thinking better of it, they down-graded their actions to merely selling him off to slave traders (!!!).
Over the course of time, this poor kid who was wrenched out from his father’s favour and thrown in a pit, found himself as a slave, then in a prison, and finally promoted to a palace and set as the Prime Minster over Egypt. You see, we can plan our ways but the Lord directs our steps. (Proverbs 16:9)
Many, many years after Joseph was cruelly betrayed and sold by his brothers, and was now ruling as Prime Minister, a famine struck the nations and Joseph’s brothers came to Egypt to buy food. They thought Joseph was long gone – never to be seen again.
When they entered the palace Joseph recognized them, but they did not recognize him. He was grown, sophisticated, handsome; regal almost I’m sure. As they asked to buy food for their family, they bowed down before him. This was exactly what Joseph had seen in his dreams as a young boy.
His dream came to pass. Did it happen the way he expected it would? Probably not. Was it easy? Not at all.
For you today, take heart! Although the odds may stack up against you not one of them is any match for God. If you keep your heart right and keep moving forward, God will be with you every step of the way to seeing it come to pass.
You might think, “Well, I’ve been hard done by. People in my life have cut me down, done me wrong and set me back.”
Your mind might tell you that you’re at the mercy of other people. But the Word of God will tell you that there is not a single person in your life who is powerful enough to hold back the plan of God on your life.
Your destiny is in the hands of God not man.
Stop worrying about who is setting you up or holding you back. Stop looking to people for your validation and your promotion. Yes, God can and will use people to move you into your future, but you are not dependant on them. No one is that powerful.
Don’t look to man
look to God
When Joseph finally revealed his identity to his brothers, he had come to an incredible place of understanding in his heart.
Genesis 45:4-5 (AMP)
4 … “Please come closer to me.” And they approached him. And he said, “I am Joseph your brother, whom you sold into Egypt. 5 Now do not be distressed or angry with yourselves because you sold me here, for God sent me ahead of you to save life and preserve our family.”
Does God cause bad things to happen? NO! But he will even use the deepest hurts and set backs to your advantage if you let him.
What the enemy intended for evil God will use for good
Romans 8:28 (AMP)
And we know [with great confidence] that God [who is deeply concerned about us] causes all things to work together [as a plan] for good for those who love God, to those who are called according to His plan and purpose.
God knows you and he sees you; even in the unseen. In the pit, in the prison, in the parched wilderness, and He hasn’t forgotten you or abandoned you. He is working things out. No matter what people have done to you, His plan still stands and it’s greater than you imagine.
Here is the key I want you to apply to your situation:
Release that person who hurt you from the responsibility of your future happiness.
Release them to God. They’re not more powerful than God, and God loves you. Repent for holding them accountable for your destiny. Turn your heart to God and trust in Him
you keep your heart RIGHT
GOD will keep your dream
Your life is in the hands of an all-powerful, loving God. He has resources you cannot comprehend. He will use the most unlikely methods to bring you through.
Isaiah 55:8-9 (AMP)
8 “For My thoughts are not your thoughts,
Nor are your ways My ways,” declares the Lord.
9 “For as the heavens are higher than the earth,
So are My ways higher than your ways
And My thoughts higher than your thoughts.
You are called to great things. God’s plans are for your future and your hope, for good and not evil. He will make all blessing abound to you according to His riches and glory. Your future is brighter than you imagine.
