UNDERSTATED OVERPERFORMERS
It doesn’t take a genius to see a problem. We can all identify things that aren’t right. It seems to me that most people easily make those sorts of observations.
It does however, require some kind of an excellent spirit to see and action a solution. Many fewer people can do that. Many fewer are willing to do that.
These are the few who manage to tap into a source of favour the rest only pine after.
This is the culture of Heaven. To see a need and fill it – not merely identify it, speak about it and make suggestions – but to meet it, fill it and bring it to a satiated closure. To be an answer.
Those with an excellent spirit know how.
We work in settings where being misrepresented as Jesus followers is the everyday norm. We love family members who misunderstand the convictions we hold. We entertain with friends who are weary of the potential “Christian agenda”. Tensions are real in the day we live, between a Christ-follower and their world.
One thing is absolutely certain; a problem-solver is a welcome companion.
Daniel had an excellent spirit. Twice the scripture describes him this way (Daniel 5:13 & 6:3). He worked in step with the Spirit to receive divine strategies, wisdom and insight that set him apart from his peers. This God-honouring man served three ungodly kings and found favour with each one.
He understood his access to all the resource of Heaven, and he unashamedly gave glory to God at each appointed promotion.
ANYONE CAN BE A PROBLEM-SEER
BUT A CULTURE SETTER IS A PROBLEM SOLVER
When everyone else was caught up in analysis paralysis, Daniel stepped in and got the job done. He solved the kings’ problems time after time. The same is recorded of young David who slayed a mammoth beast of a man with a mere sling shot while an entire trained army hid in fear. Some people do a lot of talking, others simply walk the talk.
It is better to understate and over-perform
than to be known for many words and little action.
Talk gets boring very quickly.
Better to be the person rarely heard, but whose fruit speaks for them.
How awesome it is to be the person whose reputation speaks well of them. To be the person with a track record, runs on the board and a chorus of praise to speak for them. So refreshing to be around those types of people.
Beware of the defeated spirit that tries to tell you Christians are a minority and subjected to burdensome cultures of the day.
Beware of the critical spirit masquerading as wisdom or discernment.
They’re both lies attempting to intimidate and limit you.
No dear friend, cultivate an excellent spirit.
The Spirit that raised Christ from the dead now living in you is the overcoming type – the problem-solving, culture-setting, life-bringing type. That’s who you are, and that’s what you bring to your workplace, your family, and your social settings. With the Spirit alive in you, you have a supernatural advantage.
Being a person who solves problems and meets needs will open more doors for you than an analysis or complaint ever will.
“Greatness is on the other side of inconvenience”
Mark Ramsey
And greatness always does what the masses are trying to avoid. Be the person who goes the extra mile.
“Enter through the narrow gate. For wide is the gate and broad is the road that leads to destruction, and many enter through it. But small is the gate and narrow the road that leads to life, and only a few find it.
Matthew 7:13-14(NIV)
The Church, the body of believers, should be filled with men and women who are diligently leading their own lives. We should be known as people of value-adding power and influence through effective service. We should diligently steward the influence God has intended us to have in the world.
When you become this person you will stand out from the pack; you will gain favour with kings like Daniel did.
God never intended you to blend into culture.
You are Christ’s ambassador. You represent Him in everything you do. You are His chosen brand representation in the world. You are called to promote the culture of Heaven – the excellent culture of Heaven.
We are therefore Christ’s ambassadors, as though God were making his appeal through us.
2 Corinthians 5:20
If you are wondering today what strength you carry in your world, can I sincerely encourage and remind you that you are Heaven’s appointed answer for every setting you walk into. You are there to bring hope, answers, life and solutions.
